Modern Slavery Statement

1. Organisation structure and supply chains

 

Soteria Insurance Limited (Soteria) is a General Insurance Company that has underwritten private home and motor insurance and employers liability. In Q1 2021 the company ceased offering new or renewed policies, and is now in runoff where it will settle all claims on policies previously underwritten.

Soteria outsources all its customer service activity including claims management to Markerstudy Group.

Soteria and Markerstudy operations are in the UK.

2. Policies in relation to slavery and human trafficking

 

Soteria are committed to ensuring that slavery and human trafficking will not be tolerated within our company or within our supply chain.

Soteria are committed to complying with the Modern Slavery Act 2015

3. Due diligence processes

Soteria utilises the services of Markerstudy and the Markerstudy Group’s supply chain. Markerstudy has its own due diligence process to ensure its contracting processes includes specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children. In turn, Markerstudy expect that its suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.

As part of Markerstudy’s supplier management activities they may request information from their suppliers, which may include, but is not limited to, health and safety, environmental responsibility, equality, anti-corruption and insurance protection.

In respect of other Soteria suppliers, we engage with suppliers where we believe there is a non-negligible risk to ensure their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

4. Risk assessment and management

 Soteria only employs 14 staff in office based professional roles and thus does not present slavery risk itself. Soteria has a whistleblowing policy with details to enable anybody to raise a concern confidentially.

Markerstudy have their own Modern Slavery Statement and policies, that have been reviewed and deemed adequate by Soteria.

5. Training on modern slavery and trafficking

 Following our assessment Soteria ensures that our team and our third party supply manager are kept up to date with modern slavery and trafficking requirements.
